Working Through Grief

Good Morning, Sacred Place Family;

In the last couple of weeks we have watched as California has experienced significant tragedy. Many of us have been directly affected by the fires and weather events that are occurring in Southern California. Even if we have not been directly affected, we all have acquaintances or loved ones who have experienced tragedy this week. Our hearts and our love are with all of those who are suffering and trying to find a path forward.

I wanted to take a moment and highlight resources provided by the UCC Southern California Nevada Conference.

The Emergency Network Los Angeles is coordinating volunteers. If you have time and are able to volunteer, there are many opportunities to get involved.

The American Red Cross has information on training and disaster relief.

In light of current events in our state, our country, and our world, I believe that it's more important than ever to reach into our communities and find ways to work together to create sacred places of Justice, Inclusion, and Family, not just as a local congregation, but as an extension of what it means to followers of Christ in the world. I'd like to encourage all of you to bein to consider ways that we can show up for others - where they are - and build community and resources with them. In the coming weeks I'll be reaching out to other UCC churches in the area as well as other inclusive, open and affirming congregations to begin talking about ways that we can work together and support one another. We truly are stronger when we come together.

If you have any ideas or would like to help, please feel free to send me an email.

Much Love to you all.

Bryan
