This Sunday: Holy Confrontation
Hey Sacred Place Family,
We are three weeks into Lent, and the story is getting harder to look away from. This Sunday we sit with Peter—warming himself by a fire while Jesus is led away—and we ask ourselves the question the text quietly insists on: Who are we when the stakes are real?
One more thing—don’t forget to set your clocks forward Saturday night. Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 8, which means we lose an hour of sleep but gain an evening of light. Plan accordingly, and we’ll see you at 11 AM Pacific Daylight Time.
This Sunday—Holy Confrontation
John 18:12–27 · March 8, 2026
Jesus answers every question with “I am.” Peter answers every question with “I am not.” The ego eimi / ouk eimi contrast at the heart of this passage isn’t just literary—it’s the theological spine of the week. Imagination fails under pressure. And then, maybe, it begins again.
Our kids will be exploring holy confrontation of a different kind—meeting the Canaanite woman and the daughters of Zelophehad, two stories of women who refused to accept “no” as the final word.
