The Sky & The Water
Growing up in Texas, my experience of school is a bit different than we’ve experienced as parents in Rancho Cucamonga. First of all, summer is wayyyy shorter than I am used to. My email is a bit later this week because yesterday was the first day school for Rancho’s Central District. Another difference is that the first day is chaos without a meet-the-teacher night in advance. Anyhow, this week has been atypical and busy. My apologies for the delay in this week’s update.

This Sunday is our third Summer Sunday Small Group—previously known as Summer Special Sunday. Though I love alliteration, a more descriptive title for this particular Sunday seemed like a better idea. Since Summer officially continues through September 20 and our fall programming begins September 15 (mark your calendars!) we will have two more Summer Sunday Small Groups on August 11 & September 8. The idea will continue this fall with an updated iteration. In August, it’s a closer look at humanity’s relationship with the sky and the water. We have abused that relationship historically. How can we do better? In September we will look at our relationship with animals.
Summer Small Group Sundays are in-person only.
I am away at a conference this Sunday, so Bryan will lead the Summer Small Group.
Grace and peace to you!
Matthew
