Seasons Change

Seasons Change

We’ve been through several seasons in our 5 years as Sacred Place. When we began as a new church start in 2019, we could not have predicted the upheaval of the pandemic and the rapidly changing cultural experience of Church. Those who signed on to being on the planting team for a few years, stayed beyond their commitment to help us keep going. We're rooted into our new neighborhood and beginning to make a difference in this place. New folx visit, and some find a sacred place among us.

Heading into fall, we are prepared for welcoming in new folx who are still looking for a place to call home. That place may be our Sunday morning gathering or one of our other offerings like Story Hour. I am hopeful for what will be. Fall is a reminder that the leaves must change colors, fall to the ground, and blow away to make way for the new growth of spring. It’s the circle of life, as we say. The Church is going through the same kind of transition, and we are following the Spirit as she guides us.

As I’ve shared, I will unexpectedly be away for a funeral in Texas this weekend. Of course, Fifth Sunday Fun continues. Bryan will be leading a small group conversation looking at the story of Passover, but first, Thandiwe will be sharing a special time of music starting at 10:45. Refreshments will be available.

On Thursday, you’ll be receiving a bonus reflection from me on the story of Joseph so we don’t miss any stories on our Scriptural journey.

I hope you have a fantastic, albeit toasty, week!
Pastor Matthew
