Reformation, LEGO, and Justice
Hi Sacred Place friends,
This Sunday, October 26, you’re invited to a joyful and justice-rooted experience for all ages: our Reformation Sunday Festival!
Reformation Sunday honors the bold act of sacred protest that launched the Reformation movement in 1517. It’s also a meaningful day for us as a congregation shaped by the Reformed tradition—one of the five historical streams that form the United Church of Christ.
At Sacred Place, we believe reformation is ongoing. We’re not just remembering history—we’re living into it. That’s why this week’s worship includes a blend of reflection, creativity, and celebration as part of our Echoes of the Call series.
🧡 Sunday, October 26 @ 10:45 a.m. — A Place for Glory (Reformation Sunday Festival)
When Solomon dedicated the Temple, God’s glory filled the space—but even then, God could not be contained. As we continue Echoes of the Call, we ask:
What kind of community are we building—and who is it for?
We’ll begin with a short, sacred worship experience (just 30 minutes), then move into a festival full of connection and creativity.
Festival highlights include:
- 🧱 LEGO: Build a Better Church
- 🚪 Rainbow Post-It Protest Door
- 🍬 Trick & Truth Candy Game
- 🧃 Snacks, music, and intergenerational fun
- 👕 Wear red or your costume—adults too!
Whether you’re new or have been here a while, you’re invited to be part of this playful, powerful day of reformation, reflection, and sacred community.
See you Sunday,
Pastor Matthew
