News From Around the Community
*** A quick additional note for everyone! Our building is being fumigated for termites this weekend. There will be no building access until Tuesday afternoon. Bryan can be reached this weekend via cellphone or text. Pastor Mathew will be out of town until Monday.
Summer is almost here. As Pastor Matthew shared on Tuesday, we’re getting ready to try some new things. In everything we do, we try to consider ways to bring people together with a sense of welcome that they might not have experienced before. One way we do that is with food!

June is Pride Month

Haven Fellowship in Monrovia, and Claremont Presbyterian Church are coming together to host a family friendly Pride event. It’s going to be fun, and it’s a great way for us to get to know some of our neighbors in the wider community! No registration is necessary. All are welcome!
Pomona Valley Pride
PVP is working on several things for the month of June! Click the link and check out their social media for more info.
Over the last year, we have really had a chance to get to know some of their members and work with their PRISM community to build relationships that exist inside and outside of the church. They are doing great work, and always looking for new ways to engage with the community. If you haven’t had a chance to stop by and see them, I highly encourage it.
Coming Soon
A significant part of the mission of Sacred Place is to create space for everyone to feel welcome and accepted. Storytelling is an important component in bringing people together, building bridges of understanding and acceptance. We are our stories, and when we share them with others, often we find out that - though the events of our lives may be very different - the themes are similar. We are more alike than we are different. There’s room enough for all of us, and everyone is welcome.
This summer, we will be setting aside time to share our stories, to learn about storytelling, and to get creative! Everyone has a story to tell. It may be the story of how we came to Sacred Place, or it may be a secret novel we’ve been working on for 20 years. Maybe you don’t want to tell a story, but you’d like to hear one.
Details will follow in the next couple of weeks.
If you have any questions or just feel like reaching out, email me at bryan@yoursacredplace.org.
