It’s Christmas Week at Sacred Place!

It’s Christmas Week at Sacred Place!

Christmas time is almost here!

It’s hard to believe that we’re a week away from Christmas. Between now and December 25th, we have three gatherings to help you celebrate the birth of Christ. Between now and Thursday, the audio/visual installation should be occurring (it’s scheduled for Wednesday as of this writing.) So, we’ll be celebrating in our nearly finished space this weekend! We’ve been preparing and waiting the last four weeks to celebrate anew the birth of Christ into our world. Though it is an event which happened over 2,000 years ago, this intervention to break the unhealthy cycles of the human story makes a difference today. O come, o come Emmanuel, and ransom this captive world.

I hope to see you soon at one of our Christmas gatherings.

Hope, peace, joy, and love to you,
Pastor Matthew

A Night of Hope
Thursday, December 21 @ 6:30 PM

Though Christmastime is often filled with joy, for many of us, it is also filled with sadness and the reminder of loss. On the longest night of the year we search for light in the darkness.

Christmas Eve: Story + Song
Sunday, December 24 @ 10:30 AM

Join us for a morning gathering of the Christmas story told through music and readings. Christmas Eve: Story + Song is a festive celebration for the whole family. We’ll have special treats for everyone. You’ll hear your favorite Christmas carols while Pastor Matthew reads the story.

Christmas Eve by Candlelight
Sunday, December 24 @ 5:30 PM

O come, all ye faithful to our traditional Christmas Eve gathering. We welcome the Light of the World by illuminating our Advent candles and then, in celebration, we will light the Christ candle. That light will spread and grow as we each take a bit of that light and lift it in song. Pastor Matthew will read the Christmas story and share a reflection on the birth of Christ.

Worship at Home Sunday
Sunday, December 31

As we close the year, we like to give everyone a Sunday off to worship together at home. Resources will be made available before the 31st for your family’s reflection.

Epiphany Sunday
Sunday, December 7 @ 10:30 AM

We close out the 12 Days of Christmas with the arrival of the three magi. Join us for our first celebration of the new year. May the shining star guide us to the perfect light.

An Important Reminder from Sacred Place

Keeping Everyone Safe for the Holidays

With COVID-19 cases increasing, we want to reiterate our value of keeping everyone safe. We don’t want anyone missing out on their family’s holiday traditions because they attended Sacred Place. Maintaining a safe Sacred Place requires work from each of us. We ask that everyone follow the CDC’s guide to Isolation and Precautions for People with COVID-19.

If you have any cold, allergy, or flu-like symptoms, we ask you to stay home if possible and join us online.

If you have tested negative for COVID that morning, you may join us in person with a mask. We ask you to worship from home if you or anyone in your family tests positive for COVID.

If you test positive for COVID, you should remain home in isolation for at least 5 days after. These are the days you are most contagious with COVID-19. If you had minor illness, once you are fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) after your 5-day initial isolation, you may to rejoin us with a mask. If you had moderate to severe illness, you should isolate for 10 days. The CDC recommends you wear a mask for a total of 10 days since the onset of symptoms. With two sequential negative antigen tests 48 hours apart, you may remove your mask sooner than day 10.

Please do your part to keep everyone safe this holiday season.
