God With Us

God With Us

The Christ child has arrived. A new year has begun. The Christmas decorations are coming down, and today we celebrate the arrival of the magi to visit the young (exactly what age is a bit blurry) Jesus.

God is with us, moving among us, and not just where we are in The Story.

I am still catching up after being away from my office for the better part of two weeks. I have done my planning up until Lent—our season of reflection beginning March 5 on Ash Wednesday. For all of us, it will take time to get back into the rhythms of the new year, post-holidays. All of the build-up, anticipating, and preparing is complete until next November/December.

Just take a moment and b r e a t h e.

You did it. Good job.

Now let us move forward together into where God’s Spirit is leading us next.

We don’t know exactly what the future has in store for us, we have but to follow.

What I do know, is the schedule for the next few weeks. For simplicity, everything will be at 11 AM. My monthly Sunday off will be delayed by a week, so you will have me all of the Sundays in January.

  • January 12 — God With Us: The Blessing — Communion Sunday
  • January 19— God With Us: The Water— Bible Study w/ Matthew & Bryan
  • January 26—God With Us: The Challenge
  • February 2—God With Us: The Community—Bible Study w/ Bryan

Sacred Story Hour events are on hiatus while we foster and grow the storytelling community organically.

That’s the basics of what to expect in the coming weeks. We will have more details about community events for you on Friday.

Until next time, grace and peace to you!
