For All The Saints
It is hard to believe that November has already arrived. Fall is finally in the air, and Halloween is behind us. Christmas decorations are already appearing in retail stores, and the shift toward the Thanksgiving to Christmas holiday marathon is happening. Halloween is part of a three-day festival, Allhallowtide: All Hallow’s Eve (Halloween), All Saint’s Day, and All Soul’s Day which overlap with Día de Muertos. This is a season of remembering.
In remembrance, we come together for a deeply meaningful gathering: All Saints’ Sunday. This is a time to honor those who have gone before us, remembering the cloud of witnesses who inspire and guide us in our journey of faith. Through prayer, song, and Holy Communion, we will reflect on God’s promises and the light which remains with us in the lives and legacies of those we cherish.
Our liturgy lifts up our own stories of trust and courage. In our reading from 1 Kings 17, we witness God’s miraculous care for the widow of Zarephath, reminding us of God’s ongoing provision and compassion.
During Communion, we’ll gather around the open table, sharing in the bread and cup with all who wish to receive. We’ll also light candles in memory of loved ones, creating a sacred space to honor and give thanks for their lives.
As we journey together, may we be inspired by the strength of our spiritual ancestors. Whether you’re a familiar face or a new one, we welcome you with open hearts and hands.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
With hope and gratitude,
Pastor Matthew

Riverside Interfaith Council
Building cross-cultural relationships is important. Conversation with diverse people from different faith traditions can broaden our understanding of what it means to be a people of faith as well as give us opportunities to understand how we are all a part of God's family.
The Riverside Interfaith Council is dedicated to bringing together people of different faiths and exploring the question of how our traditions may be different, but at our core, we are all more alike than we realize.

Get In Touch
The Holidays are fast approaching, and Sacred Place wants to do a Holiday outing in December. I'm looking for suggestions of an event in the area that we can attend together. Our preliminary idea is to have an evening where we start at the Mission Center, and end at the Mission Center. If you know of any December events that you think might be fun, please email me and let me know!
We want to hear from you! If you have questions, feedback, or suggestions we encourage you to reach out. We're always looking for new ways to engage with our community. If you know of an organization or a group we might want to partner with, please reach out and let me know!
One more thing before I go. I want everyone to be aware of my church schedule. Currently I'm at Sacred Place Tuesday-Friday in the mornings from 8 AM to 12 PM, Sundays from around 9 AM until about 1 PM. I am here at other times by appointment. If you need to reach me, please reach out on the Sacred Place main phone line (909) 506-2400. I also have a direct number for the church (909) 377-4007. I will do my best to answer, but if you can't reach me, please leave a message or feel free to text either of those numbers and I'll get back to you.
