Febru-weary
From Pastor Matthew:
My apologies for missing my email earlier this week. I had annual HR training on Tuesday, thus Monday was jam-packed. This Sunday, we begin our new series God Among Us which continues the walk with Jesus as he lives out his mission amongst the people. Each week, we look at aspects of how his ministry changed the world around him.
As of this writing, I ask for your thoughts and prayers for Thandiwe who will be unable to join us this Sunday as she is under the weather. We hope to have another musician join us, but in the event that doesn't work out, we will enjoy a slightly different Communion Sunday gathering.
With the sweeping changes and turmoil affecting our nation, we might be feeling a bit Febru-weary. I hope our gathering will bring you comfort and peace. I hope you will be able to join us this Sunday as we gather to look for healing and wholeness in the stories of Scripture.
Grace and peace to you,
Pastor Matthew

Our Annual Meeting is Sunday, February 16 @ 11:00 AM.
We’ll begin with a brief moment of worship, and then continue in our business. The budget report will be available by mid-week for you to review in advance.
If you have any questions, please email Matthew.

On the Calendar

Sometimes it’s good to get together “just because.” Join us at the Mission Center on February 12 at 5:30 PM for lasagna and conversation. All are welcome. If you're new here, curious about Sacred Place, or if you haven't been with us in a while, we'd love to see you. A sign up sheet is coming soon. If you have questions or would like to help, email Bryan.

If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about non-christian faiths, I'd encourage you to join our friends, the Riverside Interfaith Council for their Faith Chat. Periodically, RIC invites a faith leader to share about their core beliefs. These events also include some question and time, and afterwards there will be a general council meeting. All are welcome.
Community Building
We’re now well into 2025 and all around us and many of the things going on around us are full of chaos and uncertainty. This year at Sacred Place, one of the things that we are hoping to do is to start offering people opportunities to gather during the week. This could mean just getting together for a meal, restarting the book club, maybe doing a bible study, as well as continuing to grow our Sacred Story community. As we near the Annual Meeting next week, I'd like each of you to start thinking about the things that we can do to build community for ourselves and for the people around us. If you have ideas or are interested in getting involved and helping out, please reach out to me.
People make this a Sacred Place
