Grace and peace to you, friends!

This Sunday (August 24) we conclude our summer series Rooted in Resistance with A Sacred Rebellion (Revelation 21:1–7; 21:22–27; 22:1–5). We’ll step into John’s vision of a new heaven and a new earth where God makes a home among us—the river of life flows, the tree bears fruit in every season, and its leaves are for the healing of the nations.

Gathering details:

  • Scripture: Revelation 21:1–7; 21:22–27; 22:1–5 (CEB)
  • Songs: Your Labor Is Not in Vain • We Shall Overcome • They’ll Know We Are Christians by Our Love
  • Rhythm: Candle lighting, readings, reflection, and an invitation to respond with prayer, presence, gifts, service, and witness.

Whether you’re with us in person or online, your presence matters. Bring a friend who needs a word of hope.

Mission Sunday—August 31

Labor Day weekend will be Mission Sunday. We’ll gather in a lighter rhythm focused on connection and justice opportunities (more details Sunday).

Coming Next Month—
Fall series begins September 7: Echoes of the Call

From the beginning, God has spoken—through wind and word, flame and silence, wilderness and wonder. This fall we’ll listen for those echoes: in stories of beginnings and becoming (Creation, Abraham and Sarah, Jacob’s ladder, Moses, Samuel), we’ll hear how God’s voice meets us where we are and calls us into lives of justice, love, and sacred presence. These aren’t just ancient stories; they’re invitations to listen, to respond, and to trust that the call still echoes—even now.

Ways to participate this weekend

  • Pray: Hold our community and world in prayer—especially for healing, courage, and peace.
  • Show up: Your presence—online or in person—strengthens Sacred Place.
  • Serve: If you sense a nudge to help with hospitality, tech, music, or kiddos, reply to this email and we’ll connect you.
  • Give: Your generosity widens the gates of welcome and nurtures streams of life in our neighborhood.

See you Sunday as we practice a hope that refuses fear and a love that opens gates.
